Lafayette College’s men’s basketball team has put together a surprising five-game win streak, but the Leopards face a big test tomorrow.
Consecutive wins over Boston University, Holy Cross, Navy, Loyola and American University preceded Sunday’s game at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. The Bison, first in the Patriot League, beat Lafayette 94-66 in Easton on Feb. 2.
None of the teams Lafayette has beaten in its recent streak have winning records. Bucknell is 17-10, and 11-4 in the league. The Leopards have no wins over the top three league teams: Bucknell, Lehigh University and Colgate University.
Lafayette is 10-16 (7-8 in the Patriot League). One Leopard win was over Rosemont, a Division 3 school, so Lafayette needs a win tomorrow, or in one its two final games over Boston or Colgate to finish the regular season with 10 Division 1 wins.
