RCN Telecom Services Inc., a cable and Internet provider whose service area includes the Lehigh Valley, will provide TiVo Corp.’s `Next-Gen Platform’ to its customers.
I would like to say more, but the statement is so full of jargon and buzzwords, I won’t bother trying to decipher it. The new platform will have advanced search technology and “conversational voice control.” For RCN, there will be reduced “churn” (the rate at which customers drop the service) and the new technology will “drive customer engagement.” Yes, we’ve been waiting for that!
See the statement for yourself! If they won’t try harder to write something readable, I don’t feel obligated to interpret it.
Yes, it’s that bad. Anyway, Princeton, N.J.-based RCN has been using TiVo technology already. In Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley, RCN’s biggest cable competitor is Service Electric Cable TV.
Shares of San Jose, California-based TiVo closed at $9.46 yesterday. The company has a market value of about $1.2 billion.
